On July 23, 2024, a customer from Vietnam contacted us about building a bio organic fertilizer granulation line with an annual output of 100,000 tons. The customer mainly wants to use chicken manure as biofertilizers. He wanted to know the production steps, key equipment, and plant footprint for such a project. Below are the main details from our communication.

The production of chicken manure pellets starts with dewatering fresh chicken manure to reduce moisture. Then, mix the manure with other organic waste such as crop straw or kitchen waste to improve the nutrient balance. During mixing, you can add beneficial bacteria or microbial agents to enhance bio fertilizer efficiency. Next, crush and screen the composted materials. Feed the powder into a bio fertilizer granulator to form pellets. After granulation, use a fertilizer screening machine to separate qualified pellets from unqualified ones. Finally, send the pellets to the fertilizer packaging machine for storage and sale.

Fresh chicken manure contains about 70% water, which is too high for making pellets. The SXTS-230 solid-liquid separator can reduce moisture from 80% to around 30%, which meets biofertilizer production needs. Using spiral extrusion, it dehydrates 10–20 m³ of manure per hour. For this Vietnam project, we provided two units to match the large production scale.

If you want to produce biofertilizer particles on a large scale, the drum granulator is a good choice. The drum granulator we recommend to our customers fully meets their granulation requirements. TThe customer also wanted to know the cost of the 100,000 tons/year bio organic fertilizer granulation line. Generally speaking, such a large-scale biofertilizer production line costs about $700,000.
